It is really unfortunate how much destruction, in terms of economy and healthcare that the COVID-19 pandemic has made and will continue to do so for who knows when. Despite such tragedy, celebrating the spirit of Christmas will not be hindered but only limited.
The annual London Santa Claus parade had a different format this year. This time, held in London International Airport, the Santa Claus character conducted a drive-thru parade, which is a first. Thousands and thousands of cars drove out to see the Christmas mascot and all other acts, making the audience the ones who will be moving in a parade instead.
Strict protocols were implemented and no one was allowed to go out from their vehicles. The event started at 1:30 PM and ended supposedly at 4:30 PM but there were more than a hundred cars still lining up. Jess Brady of 980 CFPL, the event’s host, said that those who haven’t joined the drive-thru parade and seen the live stream can view it on replay.
There was a worry last September when it was announced that permits for the parades would not be given because of the ongoing pandemic. Thankfully, alternatives were made and would be the reference for future parades under the COVID-19 era.
