Charlize Theron turns in another powerful performance as a down-on-her-luck woman. Like Monster, North Country is based on a real person's story; this woman leaves her abusive husband and gets a job at a mining company only to be harassed by her mining colleagues. This movie pushes all the right buttons and will have you crying your eyes out at the injustice that the women of the mine had to endure. Headed for mainstream theatrical distribution - and, most likely, to the Oscars - North Country is a powerful, moving and important film that is not to be missed
