Contributing Writer
Position SummaryReporting to the Managing Editor, Contributing Writers seek out and write blog posts and articles on current topics as related to ethnic cool media, events, and public life.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Seek out and investigate today's current media, events, music, and public life topics that embody Schema Magazine's focus of ethnic cool and cultural diversity
- Draft and make revisions, as suggested by Senior Editors on blog postings and articles
- After revisions by editors, work with Web team to post blogs in a timely fashion
- Represent Schema Magazine as reporter at events and press releases as appropriate
Qualifications
- Journalism or English background
- Strong writing skills with an interesting and engaging flair
- Ability to make deadlines
- Interest and / or familiarity with Canada's multicultural issues, the Canadian identity, and the concept of ethnic cool
