MISO PRETTY, how about you?

It must be true that Asians all look alike, right? Take a look at the beauty line called MISO PRETTY, a riff on “Me so pretty” because, you know, all Asians speak like that. The packaging is charming in that Shanghai-in-the-roaring-1920s way, the characters wearing cheery cheongsams, plums and wild orchids framing them…despite the fact miso soup is a Japanese comfort food.

All well, it’s all tongue’n’cheek, and MISO PRETTY is part of a line of other comic, retro and satiric designs from BLUE Q, the "designer-friendly" gift manufacturer founded in 1988 in Boston. The MISO PRETTY stuff includes plum lipgloss; miso bath sake; persimmon & wild orchid soap; body wash made from crushed pearls, bamboo oil, muru muru butter and peony; miso rice scrub; and the miso purse shaped like a Chinese food-takeout box (Blue Q website HERE).
