Brazilian Baile Funk: More dirty, further south

Baile Funk.jpg

Dance music has always been about booty shakin. The world of beats, grooves, percussion, etc. have been much intertwined from different era's and genres to achieve that goal. Brazil is known to like to shake it but since the hip hop/electronic music era, aside from the lambada and neo-samba/bossa nova, there hasn't been much new stuff from Brazil for the international dance floor....that we knew of....until now. The northern emergence of baile funk has been lead by Floridian DJ Diplo who's put out a couple baile funk mix cds and also produced a baile funk-like song for M.I.A. (Here's a taste) Think Miami bass sound with latin percussion and whole lot of booty shakin chantin, favela style... (Thanks, Boon)
