29th annual Powell Street Festival
Its the BC Day long weekend and its that time of year to head down to Oppenheimer park. No, not to chill with the crackheads, but to do a little bon-odori dance, eat takoyaki, and watch guys wrestle with huge gaunch pull straps. SO DESU (yep, thats right), its the 29th annual Powell Street Festival!
The PSF crew has also put forth more effort in recent years to show the current state of what the Japanese community (from the old country to the new) is up to in the hip-hop / electronic scenes. Last year they brought Seattle based tech-pop act IQU and this year they've brought along internationally renowned DJ and producer - Nobukazu Takemura - with "Yugo: a Hip-hop Fusion Project" which will feature MCs, DJs, graf art, etc.
