Saving Face still needs some exfoliating

There’s a reason why I don’t usually watch romantic dramadies. They usually take formulas that have previously produced box office hits and disguise them behind cross-over sitcom actresses as awkward leading ladies and “goofy blonde hunks” as, well, “goofy blonde hunks.” Emotional depth is often limited and conflicts and climaxes are trivially resolved. So, with this genre of cinematic depression growing exponentially (marked by every J. Lo film), I find it not surprising to see a subgenre spawning off in what appears to be the Eastern direction. I present to you the “ethnic romantic dramady.”

An evening of visual provocation and sensual awakening, Philippine Independence Re-Veiled courses through the veins of the Filipino people's struggle for national freedom and genuine independence. A

No Reservations

If there is one voice that carries as much weight and significance in Canadian hip-hop in the tradition of Public Enemy, KRS-ONE and Rage Against the Machine, it is what the native peoples of our country have to say up upon the microphone.
Lead by groups like War Party, Tru Rez and Vancouver MC Manik, native hip-hop is set to take things to new levels and awareness. Interestingly enough, War Party's 4th full length release, the Resistance, will feature none other than legendary Public Enemy MC Chuck D himself!
Here is a great read on what's what and who's who in Canadian native hip-hop:

Howl's Moving Castle - Movie Review

Think of it as Japan’s answer to Beauty and the Beast, and why not, it’s being presented by Disney after all. Perhaps only known to the western world as, “The guy who directed Spirited Away,” animé-idol, Hayao Miyazaki, proves that the second time is even sweeter as he adapts Diana Wynne Jones’ novel for the bigscreen in Howl’s Moving Castle.
