Cammy Chung of K-town: The Bartender with a Good Girl's Upbringing

By Gayatri Everitt Bajpai

Cammy has a reputation for being K-town's sweetheart. However, in Episode 3 of the show she gave her buddy Steve what's what for trying to get her to make out with a member of a female dance troupe. Cammy had taken her drinking game loss against Steve well, but she drew the line at her punishment.

In our chat with the pretty, waif-like K-town star, she gives us the low-down on her family values.

I have a very close relationship with my parents and my older brother so that really grounds me as an individual. Both my parents pushed music and arts with the same amount of academics when we were growing up.

My dad required a few hours of piano practice each day, solving math problems on the chalkboard (yes, we had a chalkboard), but also both of them would take us to the movies and rollerblading at the beach on a regular basis.

As we got older they gave us a lot of freedom to search our dreams and passions our own way. Whether we wanted to pursue music, arts, academics, or none of the above, they were extremely supportive. My mom didn't pressure us to be doctors and lawyers but always encouraged us to do what made us happy.

I'm grateful for my parents that they involved both work and play in our lives and that remains the same for me till this day. My mom and my brother are devout Christians so that plays a huge role in my life too. My upbringing was always more involved within the church so that part of my life is special to me. It's something I hope I never lose sight of no matter how crazy life gets.
