Fresh Face | Damon and Naomi
DAMON AND NAOMI are hardly newbies to the music scene. The duo first began making sweet, ethereal folk-pop in 1992, a year after their Boston band Galaxie 500 broke up after four years together.
Damon and Naomi released their first album, More Sad Hits, on Shimmy Disc in 1992. From there, members Damon Krukowski and Naomi Yang recorded six more studio albums, including 2007's Within These Walls, while collaborating with psychedelic rock bands Magic Hour and Ghost.
The band's sound is a fusion of psychedelic folk-rock and gentle acoustic 1960s-inspired folk and dream pop. Most of their songs feature Krukowski on acoustic guitar and vocals with Yang on bass or keyboard and vocals.
