Brazilian-born, Montreal-based singer BIA KRIEGER encompasses the true meaning of "world artist." Singing in French, Portuguese and Spanish, Bia has been performing and singing professionally for well over a decade.
Her debut album, La Memoire du Vent, was recorded in 1996. Singing French translations of Brazilian songwriter Chico Buarque's songs, the album earned Bia the Grand Prix de l'Academie Charles Cros prize. After touring around the world, Bia spent time in Rio de Janeiro recording her second album, Sources in 2000, then Carmin in 2003, and Coeur Vagabond in 2006.
Bia's fifth studio album, Nocturno, just saw it's English Canada release in May 2008. The album released on Audiogram is filled with angelic, sensual vocals over trickling acoustic guitars over bossa nova and samba beats.
