Alden E. Habacon Speaking Engagements | View All
Managers' Community | February 10, 2010
I gave the keynote message for two conferences called "You and the Evolving Public Service 2.0", presented by the National Managers' Community conferences, via broadband, for the Alberta region. I spoke to a group of about 100 managers from a variety of sectors of public service in Calgary (February 10) and another 100 managers in Edmonton (February 11). I've organized broadband talks before, but have not been the one on the far end. I also couldn't see the audience. But organizers Jeanette Dotimas (from Public Works and Government Services Canada) and Yogi Pillay say, "Awesome feedback!"

Synopsis (from the program)
Alden E. Habacon will explain why the ethno-cultural mosaic is obsolete in today's Canada, describing the trends, beyond demographics, that have contributed to what is being called "The New Canada." He will also describe the emergence of "cultural navigators," a generation of Canadians who are able to move through a complex network of cultural spaces. It also looks at how to apply the new features of Multiculturalism 2.0 in workplace, and moving past some of the most common hurdles that prevent an organisation from being dynamically diverse.
