TEDx ... yes, as in the offshoot of the infamous TED Talks.
Pinch me, I'm still in disbelief that this actually happened. I have to admit, I have never been so nervous. I was also forced to condense what is normally a 45-minute presentation into 20 minutes. But overall, I think I passed. I have never spoken as fast as I did that day! For the record, I normally speak about 10 times slower.
This, despite being very stressful, was one of the best things to ever happen to me as a public speaker. It forced me to take my regular speech on Multiculturalism 2.0 and condense it, give it more life, and really take it up a notch (have you seen the other TED talks?). All the while, cutting out 25 minutes.
Special thanks to Cyrus Irani, Director of TEDxVancouver for inviting me.
