Alden E. Habacon Speaking Engagements | View All
Canada | October 2, 2009
I was a guest speaker and gave a workshop for the Institute of Canadian Citizenship, which was founded by Canada's former Governor General, Adrienne Clarkson. I spoke at a closed session on Diversity 2.0. This session aimed to help ICC's members learn more about diversity and how to work with it as well as be something that they feel is practically relevant to engaging new and established citizens in the practice of inclusive citizenship.
I have the great privilege of presenting my ideas to both Adrienne Clarkson and essayist and novelist John Ralston Saul. You don't know nervous until had John Ralston Saul stop you mid-sentence to ask you a question.
Special thanks to Claire Reid, Manager of National Citizenship Committees at the Institute for Canadian Citizenship for setting this up. And an extra special thanks to Joyce Wong who came to be a familiar smile in the crowd and for taking such beautiful photos.
