Position Summary

Supporting the Senior Editor for Schema's blog, the Daily Dose Researcher is responsible for "coolhunting" and scouring external websites and building relationships with bloggers from other sites to seek articles, events, and tidbits that would be suitable to be included on Schema's Daily Dose of Ethnic Cool.

About Daily Dose

Schema Magazine's Daily Dose of Ethnic Cool functions as a hub and aggregate of ethnic cool content, stuff that's reflective of cultural navigator's point of view.
Roles & Responsibilities

  • Cool-hunt, research and seek out online articles that are fitting for Schema's emphasis on being more than ethnic - content that "cultural navigators" may be interested in
  • Contact the author of the selected articles and seek their permission to re-post article on the Schema website
  • Build relationships with other bloggers to facilitate cross-postings and partnerships
Qualifications

  • Strong research skills
  • Strong written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make deadlines
  • Interest and/or familiarity with Canada's multicultural issues, the Canadian identity, and the concept of cultural navigators
