Audiences were blown away at both the Vancouver and Toronto screenings. Terry Woo, author of Banana Boys, was heard saying, "I knew it was going to be good. But not this good! See below for all the reviews and fan-response ... need we say more?

All of us UBER-fans want this to get the same attention by CBC as Vanishing Sons (starring Russel Wong, 1994) did -- which also began as a four-part mini-series and followed by 13 TV-episodes (which never got to Canada). DRAGON BOYS IS EVEN BETTER! Superbly written, and stellar acting by an incredible cast!

Awesome! One of the best things I have seen on TV in ages. CBC...this needs to be a series!

Even my guy buddies who're usually far from being interested in whether Asian representation and Asian content is present in Western media, was so drawn in by DB after Pt. 1 that many of them were excited to see and made it an effort to catch pt. 2..It was so fun to watch and try to point out the different locations in Vancouver that was filmed in DB and definitely easy on the eyes to watch Byron or "BANANA BOY" tackle crime!

I can read from this fan site a lot of youthful exuberance and youthful excitement. That's good. But as balance, here's a few thoughts from an old fart like myself:

"I enjoy watching romantic comedies like Dragon Boys… because folks, it’s just entertainment. But the more important lesson in all this, was to hear from the young people that “membership in a gang” entitles you to participate in chopping up humans and expected betrayals by your “friends”. And that my friend, is the glamorous life you get for being a gang member.

This show served as a graphic reminder that is better than any politically correct Vancouver School board material against Asian gangs."

I wrote up a bit more on my new blog (occupies my time when I'm not sitting on the toilet). Keep up the cheering and keep up the great work folks.
